Robinson beach, Hvar islandBeach Wedding in CroatiaFlowery romance in the Adriatic breeze

Let’s talk about our favourite venue for a beach wedding in Croatia! We’re on the island of Hvar… now imagine a dinner reception on a secluded pebble beach, inaccessible by anything but a small boat, overlooking a rocky shore and a lighthouse on a far islet. The beach is in a cove, protected from most winds by a pine forest and permeated by the scents of Dalmatian plants bursting with irresistible essential oils.

As you arrive by the speedboat to the Robinson beach, you’ll notice a small restaurant just about the beach, with heavy wooden tables, under the shade of old olive trees. The restaurant is beautiful in its simplicity and provides all the essential Dalmatian tastes, from prosciutto and cheese to the freshly caught fish prepared over a wooden coal grill.

As the sunset turns to dusk, the olive trees light up with hundreds of tiny lights and your attention turns towards the dance-floor on a grassy meadow covered with beautiful carpets where you can dance barefoot.

In our experience, a beach wedding in Croatia such as this is a rare gem offering both privacy and freedom to party until the wee hours as there is nothing for miles around the Robinson beach… which makes us think its name wasn’t picked randomly!

As for the rest of this stunning wedding, Rebecca and Dave start their day in a villa in village of Malo Grablje and exchanged their vows in the secluded garden of Franciscan monastery in the town of Hvar.

We took them for a session through the stone alleys and squares of Hvar, before embarking for a 10 minute speedboat ride to Robinson, for the grand finale of their beach wedding!

We loved every part of this experience and hope it will inspire other couples for a similar adventure!
