Korčula Old Town WeddingAlana & AaronWhen 20 years of friendship turns into true love...

Alana & Aaron are one of those couples we got to know so well, we could write an essay on them! It wasn’t hard either, as they’re outgoing, always smiling and positive, relaxed, easy-going… and dealing hugs like they’re free! I could go on, but you get the picture. They’re a dream to work with, in short.

They came all the way from Australia to get married on Korčula, to which Alana has family ties going back generations. They brought just a handful of closest people with them, so this was almost an elopement.

They both love design, history and vintage things with a story. This will explain the story behind the ring, in a moment.

They also have great taste and it showed time after time. Should I begin with them picking the mysterious Arabian room of Lešić Dimitri hotel for their first night? Or one of the best restaurants in Croatia for their wedding dinner? Or the beautiful Grace Loves Lace wedding dress? Or the mysterious 1920s engagement ring?

Okay, let’s talk about the ring a bit. It’s 1920s, art-deco styled, diamond studded (with a few sapphires thrown in) and with a mysterious date engraved inside. No one knows what it represents, but they both loved it and it became their engagement ring… but not for long!

Why not?

Well Aaron, being an architect, decided to design the wedding ring as an addition to this vintage ring. The addition is so well designed and so precisely manufactured you can barely notice it (and you won’t, looking at the photos, unless you know where to look!). The plan is to add the third, final piece with time. So the engagement ring truly became the wedding ring in this unique metamorphosis!

Anyway, this story was incredible from the first email we got from them to the last photo we took. And I’ll be the first to admit — we have a soft spot for Korčula. I don’t know why, but there is something there I didn’t really find in other places. I can’t put my finger on it, but we love coming back here, time after time.

Enjoy this enchanting wedding while our charming couple is still enjoying their huuuuuge Europe trip! Have fun you guys!
